“That is not all you will have time for over here though.” Grandpa George put his hand on his grandson’s arm. “Joshua, there is another thing. You will know when it is getting close to the time for each of them to make the choice to come over to our home. This will sadden you in some respects but it will gladden you too. With a thought, a single question, you can see into the future on any event you want to see. This can sometimes be a burden but it can also be wonderful as well. I’m telling you this not to bring you down but to enlighten you. That was part of what you learned while transferring over but you may not remember it now.” Granny E was shaking her head yes as well.

Settling in

Joshua was learning to live very well on the other side. Sometimes he needed to visit his earthbound family though and he found with the thought of whomever he missed, he could be right there with them. Those times were precious to him although sometimes he became a little sad too because loved ones didn’t know he was there. There were times he knew they could hear him. Because when he called their name to tell them he loved them, they might turn and look in his direction for a moment before shaking their head and walking away. He found other ways to communicate as well. Dreams were a very good source. Joshua could insert himself into their dreams and say what he wanted.

Margie
The night is always the worst when you’re alone. Thinking and reliving your life is what I am doing tonight. I hope that I can sleep through the night but I am not always able to do that. Tonight is like others.

I consider myself a very thoughtful and sweet woman. People will tell you that I am. Not only that but I am always there for them when they ask. And, I try to be nice to everyone even when I don’t feel like it.

Living alone is not easy. My three children are grown and gone. I did the best I could.

I made sure that they had everything even though I did without. Their daddy left us all when my children were three, four and five. I try to understand that we all have our own lives but it is not easy when I am left alone.

Their daddy said he couldn’t live up to my expectations of him. The truth was I didn’t have any expectations of him but he thought I did. He was able to do as he wanted without my ever uttering a word of disapproval. There were times he should have been told off though because he wasn’t right in what he was doing, but I didn’t say anything.
