With all the assistance I have gotten from my ghostly friends in helping those of us still alive, I am trying to give some of that back. My goal is to help others understand that people on the other side are much like they were when they were alive. If you had loving relationships with a family member while that person was alive, then don’t you want the same loving relationship with that person after he or she dies? A major point I want to make is that it is possible that all of us can communicate with the other side if we simply ask.

Since many can’t communicate with the other side yet, I decided, years ago, that I would let the dead speak through me. Generally that was only when someone wanted me to be specific with a loved one. And it was never for ghosts to say anything they wanted to anyone other than loved ones. But one night, while in bed with my husband, Claude, I told the other side that anyone who wanted to speak could give me their stories and I would relay them. It only took a minute for several to come forward. Most were wonderful people with the exception of one, an impatient murderer. Anyway, I had told them that I would make their stories known and you will hear from many ghosts throughout this book. Some will speak in their own voice to tell their stories while others will be shown as examples by telling their stories in the way they appeared at the time.

With that in mind, I want to tell you about a very special man, Joshua. He is not someone that I have known for a long time. As a matter of fact, the only reason I know him is because he came when I issued the invitation that night. Joshua came because he wanted others to know that death is not always hard even though illness may be painful beforehand. Another thing he wants to convey is that he is still living on the other side. He is still able to reach out to his family from the dead. Joshua can see the future and knows what is to come for those he loves. As you read Joshua’s story told to me, remember what he wants you to take from it, life keeps going eternally.

Joshua lay on his deathbed quietly breathing, trying not to upset his three sons, daughter and his wife. He did not want to cause concern to any one of them. Joshua’s eyes were closed, but he could tell where his family was.
